On the weekend of 10th and 11th July, Big Bangs Australia lent their support, expertise and sponsorship to the inaugural SABI 2010 tournament.
Teams from Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and hometown Canberra came together to celebrate the talents of Sudanese-Australian basketball!
The weekend included an All-Star Game, Dunk Contest and 3-pt shootout.
The games were all exciting and hotly contested; plenty of dunks, plenty of highlights and of course a ton of support from all of Canberra’s basketball community.
After upsetting the firm favorites Melbourne to book a spot in the grand final, the Canberra Blue …

Last Thursday evening, the Big Bangs – Australia team took part in the St Vincent De Paul Society’s CEO Sleepout, joining 684 Business & Community Leaders sleeping rough in capital cities across Australia, in a bid to experience first hand what it is like to be homeless, along the way raising $2.6 million, which will go directly towards the ongoing provision of Vinnies’ homeless services across the country.
It was cold, windy, altogether miserable, and unfortunately a reality for far too many Australians.
Why did we support? The article below from our CEO should explain…
He has …

In March of this year, the Big Bangs organized an under-17 basketball league.
All the participants were kids who were no older than juniors in high school. These kids were desperate for a tournament which wasn’t being dominated by seniors, college students and adults (sadly that includes the Big Bangs). It was no fun for them to register in a tournament just to lose every game by 50 points or more. These kids wanted fair and even competition and the Big Bangs gave it to them.
8 teams participated in a season, …

Let’s go right inside the heart of the Alps, in France, south east part, between mountains, far away from the Bangladeshi heat. Here you are, in Grenoble, a strange place where weird animals are living.
They are from what is called the “IEP”. A mixture between a high standard school and a friendly shelter for psyche people like us. Great place.
Few of them got in touch with the Big Bangs, offering their help in organizing a charity multisport tournament. Of course, we accepted straight away and here they were launched in …
