UBL Annual 3×3 Charity Tournament

It’s back on again!  This tournament will be raising funds for the great work of the Big Bang Ballers, a not-for-profit using the game of basketball to fight youth poverty and social disadvantage around the world.

Big Bangs France, Ballin For Kabul

Malgré l’appel du bikini et la chaleur écrasante du mois d’août gapençais, nous avons été plus d’une cinquantaine de fous de la balle orange à participer au tournoi Big Bangs du 8 août à Gap. Day-Camp for St Vinnie’s kids

On Tuesday 13th July, members of Big Bangs Australia ran a basketball clinic for 34 kids at St Vinnie’s Holiday Camp.
The St Vincent de Paul Society’s 40,000 members and volunteers work hard to assist people in need and combat social injustice across Australia. Internationally, the Society operates in 130 countries and has over 950,000 members.  A small part of their work has been school holiday camps for disadvantaged and at-risk kids; you just know we couldn’t resist helping them out!

CEO Sleepout – 17 June 2010

Last Thursday evening, the Big Bangs – Australia team took part in the St Vincent De Paul Society’s CEO Sleepout, joining 684 Business & Community Leaders sleeping rough in capital cities across Australia, in a bid to experience first hand what it is like to be homeless, along the way raising $2.6 million, which will go directly towards the ongoing provision of Vinnies’ homeless services across the country.
It was cold, windy, altogether miserable, and unfortunately a reality for far too many Australians.

Big Bangs Cocktail Fundraiser 2010!

Tongue & Groove presents the Big Bangs Cocktail Fundraiser 2010!
Join us for an evening of canapes, bubbles, music, laughter and a raffle, all to support the work of the Big Bangs!
Tickets are $50, with all proceeds directly funding our work in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, India, Papua New Guinea and the Philippines.
Here’s what $50 does across the world:
• Creates 100 “emergency packs” for street and slum kids in Bangladesh, containing enough rice, oil, soap, water and milk for a week.

Our CEO, Pierre Johannessen, is taking part in this year’s CEO SLEEPOUT!
On Thursday 17 June 2010 the Vinnies CEO Sleepout takes place in capital cities across Australia. The event challenges business and community leaders to experience homelessness first-hand for one night, raise important money, and with fresh insight go on to effect change in social opinions on this serious issue. All money raised goes directly towards the ongoing provision of Vinnies’ homeless services across the country.

Big Bangs & Camp Quality Day

On Saturday 8th May, the Big Bangs – Australia team put on a day-camp for kids from Camp Quality, Canberra.  Big Bangs camps involve a lot of games, running around and of course teamwork-building exercises, with kids and volunteers alike getting a chance to have a great day out together while learning how much easier it is to get things done as a team!

Mixed Tourney, Canberra

On Saturday the 17th of April, the Big Bangs held a charity mixed tournament at Canberra Boys Grammar.
The event was attended by over 100 participants and raised over $1000 for their community and youth activities in Australia. These activities include the upcoming camp quality event, the kicks for kids campaign, sponsorship of local multicultural groups such as the Sudanese-Australian Eagles and the upcoming Midnight Basketball program for local youth at risk to be conducted with Basketball ACT.

Men’s Charity 5×5 Tournament, Australia

The Big Bangs, a not-for-profit organization that uses the game of basketball to fight youth poverty and social disadvantage worldwide, proudly invites you to participate in the inaugural CHARITY 5×5 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT.

This is a Men’s Open Tournament, with FIBA rules.

Put together your crew for the tournament to be held on SATURDAY 1st MAY at Canberra Boys Grammar.  Current timetable runs from 10am to 4pm, however subject to change.
