Gala Fundraiser, hosted by Tongue & Groove, Canberra

17 September 2009 One Comment

On Monday, 14th September, Tongue & Groove hosted a Gala Fundraiser for the Big Bang Ballers in Canberra, Australia.

With flowing Moet & Chandon, a bevy of beautiful people and generous support from our event sponsors, the Big Bangs closed this month’s fundraising campaign with a night to remember.

Our gracious hosts and sponsor, Tongue & Groove, joined us in welcoming guests including Lachlan Kenendy, who so generously served as MC for the evening, Joy Burch MLA and Steve Doszpot MLA as well as Canberrans and supporters who came from far and wide to mark the occasion. However, before the night propelled into full swing, Big Bangs CEO, Pierre Johannessen gently reminded us why we had gathered this evening. Big Bangs is resolute in our mission to bring basketball and the lessons it provides to youth in every corner of the globe. Funds raised from our campaign will go toward supporting programs in Afghanistan, Philippines, Bangladesh, Nepal and Australia. The timely support comes just as the Big Bangs will be visiting 5,000 children in schools and orphanages in the Philippines bringing with us much needed clothing, food and of course basketball supplies.

A big thank you to our event sponsors:

  • UCU Sports & Fitness Centre
  • Fitness First
  • Aladdin Restaurant
  • Ferrari Formal and Bridal
  • Langley Pino Optics
  • Mania @ Manuka
  • Moet & Chandon
  • Leonardo’s Hair

And of course, our partners Tongue & Groove.

Thank you to all our supporters and fans who donated their time to make the night such a success, and thank you to all who attended!
