Kicks for Kids, JAAGO, Bangladesh

2 October 2009 No Comment

“Kicks for Kids” is a new Big Bangs program currently completing trials in Bangladesh.  This much-lauded and so far very successful program involves providing shoes for our partner schools and teams.

In September the Big Bangs distributed 120 new pairs of shoes to the kids at the JAAGO foundation; nice work guys!

In a place where shoes are a luxury, providing adequate footwear immediately overcomes many health issues faced by the kids; walking barefoot, or close to it, through slums, excrement and refuse, all a kid needs is a small cut on their feet to contract an infection or disease.  By providing closed footwear, kids eliminate this risk.  Furthermore it allows kids to reduce injuries through sport, by providing decent ankle support and of course reduces teh chances of cuts and bruises to their feet.

Our congratulations to Big Bangs Bangladesh for such a successful trial of the program, and congratulations all the kids of JAAGO!
