Patrner Update – Skateistan

The Big Bangs family is very proud to spread the word of Skateistan’s opening of a Skate Hall in Kabul, Afghanistan.
For those unfamiliar with Skateistan, they are essentially us, except they use skateboarding rather than basketball.  As Josh Brooks writes, “In a place often overrun by chaos, corruption and a lack of accountability, the skate hall is an important step in the development of a new generation of children (who will eventually become adults) that could strive to do good for their country.”  Read the full article here.

Big Bangs in Afghanistan

Big Bangs in Aghanistan…what ? Kabul as a new place to ball?
Why not after all?
Taking the opportunity of a business trip to Kabul, I assessed how the big bang ballers could be useful there. The country has been partly destroyed after few decades of civil war but its people is still standing, proud and determined to get their situation improved.
That’s a start…
Then, I met some guys running an NGO using skateboarding to tackle poverty and social disadvantage… hum… rings me a bell!
Those guys are doing an amazing job and Skateistan (www.skateistan.org …
