Congratulations to Coach Don and the Big Bangs/Sudanese All-Stars for taking out the Canberra Classic B Trophy on the 24th of January, 2010!
Dominating their opponents throughout the 3-day tournament, the team was joined in the semi-finals by another Big Bangs team, who unfortunately were beaten by eventual finalists, the CPL Diesel.
Playing unselfish team basketball and running at every opportunity, the new-look side came away with a well-deserved win after an undefeated tournament.
Our sincere thanks to all of the teams, officials and friends involved. We’re looking forward to next year’s tournament!

The Canberra Players League have been supporters of the Big Bangs since we first began operations in Australia, so they could be forgiven for taking a couple of weeks off from anything Big Bang related… but no.
Fresh from “Big Bangs Donation Week”, where players from the CPL generously donated jerseys, shorts, shoes and basketballs for our upcoming tour of the Philippines, the CPL then held a 3×3 Charity Tournament to raise more funds for our local and overseas programs.
Being a Big Bangs board member means you spend a lot of …

It’s incredible how quickly time flies when there’s a lot of work to do… in just over a week, 5 of the boys from Australia will be flying to Bayug, Philippines, to run camps for 5,000 kids in 6 days.
That’s a lot of kids, and not much time…
The schedule is packed, our donations are being finalised, and all the boys are eagerly awaiting the trip, especially since this will be the first time all bar one of us is going to meet our Big Bangs Philippines team, who have proven …

And the streak continues… after a huge previous week, Big Bangs Australia followed up their win against hte Regulators with a victory against the Wingmen.
Fighting off some pretty play by Scotty, the Big Bangs rallied around lots of hustle by Wayne, Ingmar and Brian on the defensive end, with some strong inside play from the bigs Raff and Ilya.
The game was close throughout, one of the key differences coming from Rieuk; after putting in a lot of hours this week in training, Rieuk drained 2 free throws and ended the …

Wow. The Big Bang Ballers just spent the morning with none other than Australian cricketing great, Adam Gilchrist.
Gilchrist, Chairman of the National Australia Day Council, met with Pierre at the Civic Youth Centre in Canberra as part of the Australian of the Year Awards.
Pierre was nominated by our good friend and Canberra Players League representative, Dean Brown, who also volunteers his time and efforts to the Big Bang Ballers. A big thank you to Dean and the CPL for their kind words and nomination. The Big(STAR)Bangs are proud to participate and support the Canberra Players …

Congratulations to Raff Webb, a late addition to the South Team, for playing so well and helping the South take out the 2nd Annual CPL All-Star Game.
Pierre, on the losing North Team, has not spoken to Raff since…
All joking aside, congratulations to the CPL for an incredibly well-run event. All competitors and even spectators had a great time, with plenty of highlights throughout the day and lots of good-natured trash-talking.
The All-Star game comes straight off the back of an epic performance by the Big Bangs at last Thursday’s CPL Game, …
