Kicks for Kids – Working With Basketball Canberra

On Thursday 12th August, Big Bangs Australia delivered 100+ pairs of shoes to Basketball Canberra.

Basketball ACT is supporting the FIBA Oceania ‘Soul to Sole-Our Heart to Your Feet’project. Donations of shoes(and maybe socks) helps in community and school basketball programs in Pacific countries. The countries being partnered are small in population and poor by our standards.Despite this, basketball continues to hold its own in being the preferred second sport in the Pacific. Big Bangs at the FIBA Oceania Women’s Championship

On Wednesday the 2nd of September the BIG BANGS were guests of Basketball ACT at the Australian Opals vs New Zealand Tall Ferns game.

Donation from Canberra Grammar School

Pierre, Rieuk and Brian today visited Canberra Grammar School, Pierre’s alma-mater.  The school generously donated $100 towards the Big Bang Ballers, presenting the Big Bangs with a cheque at their weekly assembly.
Our sincere thanks to all the boys, teachers and supporters of the school, especially Mr Simon Murray, headmaster of the school, and Jeff Knowles, one of our Board Members as well as a long-standing teacher at the school.
The assembly gave the Big Bangs an opportunity to tell the boys about the organisation, our aims, values and everyday practices.
